61st Annual Conference Call for Papers

Join us for the 2024 AEF Conference at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, SC!

The AEF conference continues to provide an opportunity for attendees to showcase their research, engage with fellow faculty, and learn about new trends in the world of economics and finance. Topics related to economics, finance, and economics/finance education will be considered for presentation. We also welcome graduate and undergraduate students to showcase their research!

The conference will be held at the Francis Marion Hotel at 387 King St. Charleston, SC 29403. The conference room rate is $195/night, and self-parking is $20/night. Valet parking is also available for an additional charge.

Conference sessions will occur between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Thursday, February 8th, and Friday, February 9th. The Teacher Training Program will be held on Saturday, February 10th from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

  • President's reception (Feb. 8th, 5:30-7:30 PM) - no additional charge
  • J. Anderson Davis Luncheon (Feb. 9th, 11:45-1:15 PM) - $30/person

To submit an abstract, please click "register" and follow the prompts. You must register in order to submit an abstract. If your abstract is not accepted, you may be eligible for a full refund. 

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received on or before January 10, 2024, to receive a partial refund. If your abstract was accepted, $60 of your registration fee is non-refundable. Cancellations received after January 10, 2024, are not eligible for a refund. 

Fees:

  • Professor registration fee: $175 (early - by Nov. 24th) or $200 (after Nov. 24th)
  • Graduate student registration fee: $100
  • Undergraduate student registration fee: $60
  • Non-presenting family or friends of attendees are welcome to attend for a discounted rate of $100. The registration link will allow you to add guests. 
  • J. Anderson Davis Luncheon: $30/person

Key Dates:

  • July 31, 2023: Abstract submissions open.
  • December 1, 2023: Deadline for abstract submissions.
  • January 10, 2024: Last day to cancel and receive a partial refund. 
  • January 11, 2024: Deadline to receive the conference room rate of $195/night.
