About R&R

Root & Rise Symposium is a three-day gathering of researchers, educators, policymakers, regulators, entrepreneurs and industry leaders exploring the future of cannabis, hemp and cannabinoid products.

Hosted July 23-25, 2026, at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, the symposium brings together voices from across science, policy, education and industry for thoughtful conversations about where cannabis is today and where it is headed next. Programming explores cannabinoid research, public health, regulation, retail, manufacturing, workforce development and market growth.

As Virginia prepares for adult-use cannabis sales in 2027 and other states continue to explore legalization, regulation and market development, Root & Rise offers a unique opportunity to learn from established markets while participating in conversations that will influence what comes next.

Set against the backdrop of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, the symposium combines educational programming, networking events, experiential activities and shared meals designed to foster meaningful connections and collaboration.

All full symposium passes include educational sessions, meals, hospitality events, networking receptions and admission to the Root & Rise Trailblazer Awards Dinner.
