Thank you to everyone who travelled to Urla — for the talks, the posters, the questions that ran past the end of the session, and the conversations in the coffee queue that are half the reason we meet at all. Thank you to the İzmir Institute of Technology for opening its halls and laboratories to us; to our sponsors and partner companies; to the Urla Women’s Cooperative, who fed us by hand from the products of this region; and to our student volunteers in red shirts, who knew where everything was, three days running.
Twenty conferences on, NanoTR is still what it was meant to be: a place where a first-year master’s student presents two metres away from a professor whose paper she cited last week. That does not happen by itself. It happens because this community keeps showing up.

A few notes to keep your session running smoothly
Oral Presentations
- Deliver your presentation file to the technical staff in your hall at least one session before your scheduled slot. Bring it on a USB drive and, if possible, keep an online copy you can download on site.
- Your talk is [confirm] minutes, including [confirm] minutes for questions. Please prepare your slides in 16:9 format as a PDF or PowerPoint file.
- Test your presentation on the hall computer to make sure it opens and runs as expected.
- Introduce yourself to your session chair before the session begins.
Poster Presentations
- Your board number is listed next to your abstract in the Poster Program. Boards are [confirm — e.g. 70 × 100 cm, portrait]; mounting materials will be provided at the poster area.
- Mount your poster on the assigned board at least two hours before your poster session begins.
- Remove your poster promptly at the end of the session so the next presenter can use the board. Posters left in place afterwards will be removed by the organizers and cannot be returned.
- Please be present at your poster throughout your assigned session. Posters that are not presented in person will be recorded as not presented and will not be included in the NanoTR conference proceedings.

Oral Presentation:
- Familiarize yourself with the schedule: Check your presentation date, time, and hall.
- Your presentation should be in Microsoft PowerPoint format (Ratio: 16:9 .ppt or .pptx).
- Make sure images, visuals or videos are embedded in your PowerPoint file.
- Use standard fonts, sizes, and colors for clear viewing.
- Your presentation time is 15 minutes, including Q&A. Ideally, use no more than 20 slides.
- Presentation time is 30 minutes for the invited speakers and 45 minutes for the plenary speakers, including Q&A.
- Give your presentation to the technical staff in the meeting room 2 sessions before you present.
- Before your session starts, introduce yourself to the chairperson.
Poster Presentation:
- Posters should be portrait and 70x100 cm in size. Printing responsibility is yours.
- Use clear fonts and visuals so they can be seen from a distance.
- It's a good idea to include: NanoTR-20 logo, title, names and affiliations of authors, introduction, methods, results, conclusion, references, and acknowledgment.
- Stand by your poster during your assigned time. Posters not presented will be removed from the abstract book.
- Take down your poster after your session, as we can't store them safely.

Unpaid registrations remain subject to updates within the applied flexible period-based pricing policy (Due to current economic conditions, registration fees will be adjusted with advance email notification. Returning from İYTE Campus
When leaving the campus at the end of the Conference, please allow extra time—İYTE is approximately 45 km from İzmir city center and 60 km from Adnan Menderes Airport, and connections often require a transfer. Free on-campus shuttles will take you from the Engineering Building to the main campus bus stop, where all ESHOT services depart.
To İzmir City Center:
ESHOT Express Bus No. 883 (faster) or Municipal Bus No. 982 from the İYTE campus stop to Üçkuyular / Fahrettin Altay. From Fahrettin Altay you can connect to the İzmir Metro and tram network to reach Konak, Alsancak, and other central districts.
Journey time: 45+ minutes to Üçkuyular
To Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB):
Option 1 — via Urla (most direct):
ESHOT Bus No. 882 from campus to Urla Bus Terminal, then a HAVAŞ airport coach directly to Adnan Menderes Airport. Check current times and fares at havas.net/en/bus-services.
Option 2 — via public transport:
Bus No. 982 / 883 to Fahrettin Altay, then İzmir Metro to Hilal Station, then transfer to the İZBAN commuter train to Adnan Menderes Airport Station.
Please note: With transfers and traffic, the trip to the airport can take 2–3 hours. We strongly recommend departing campus at least 3.5–4 hours before your flight, or arranging a taxi / private transfer if time is short.
To İzmir Bus Terminal (Otogar):
Bus No. 982 / 883 to Fahrettin Altay, then İzmir Metro to Halkapınar Station, then ESHOT Bus No. 555 (or No. 302) to the İzmir Bus Terminal (Otogar).
To Urla Town:
ESHOT Bus No. 882 connects the campus directly with Urla Bus Terminal, where you can pick up onward city, intercity, and airport services.

By Taxi or Private Vehicle:
Taxis and pre-booked private transfers are the most comfortable option, especially for airport departures or travelling with luggage. Leaving campus by car, follow the İzmir–Çeşme highway from the Çeşme–Karaburun junction toward İzmir for the city, airport, and Otogar.

Check the last departure: ESHOT services do not run 24 hours—confirm the final bus times for your route before you set out, especially in the evening.
